The priorities and goals of professional education are set considering such programs as "Education Development Guidelines for the 2007th – 2013", "Lifelong Learning Policy Guidelines for the 2007th – 2013" and education strategy "Education and Training 2020", which are in line with the Lisbon strategy objectives of education and recommendations thus providing a Latvian professional education in line with European Union guidelines.
